Located in DuPage County, Illinois, the Kraft Law Office (KLO) was founded in 2007 by attorney Michael A.                 MORTGAGE BANKING LITIGATION:  Including (i) the defense of Lender Liability claims asserted by borrowers alleging consumer fraud, fraudulent practices, Truth-In-Lending (TILA) violations, RESPA violations and other similar statutory violations; (ii) the prosecution and defense of claims involving mortgage bankers and brokers and assertions of breach of warranty, misrepresentation, breach of contract and fraud; (iii) the prosecution and defense of loss mitigation claim matters relating to loan origination or servicing including loan repurchases, indemnity, early payoff and first payment default demands; (iv) title insurance and closing protection letter coverage claims and  (v) appraiser error and omission claims.                                                                                     

                   COMMERCIAL/BUSINESS LITIGATION:  Including the prosecution and defense of claims on behalf of businesses of all sizes relating to contract disputes, fraud, negligence, restrictive covenants, breach of fiduciary duties, mechanics liens, wage claims, arbitrations, mediations, appeals and collections.                                                         

                    STATE MORTGAGE LICENSING/REGULATORY MATTERS: Including assistance with initial lending/brokering applications, foreign state corporate registrations, license renewals and ongoing administration including advising clients on compliance with state mortgage licensing laws and legal representation in administrative enforcement investigations or proceedings.                                                                                                                                                                                                  MORTGAGE BANKING TRANSACTIONAL MATTERS: Including the review and negotiation of loan purchase agreements, repurchase agreements, security agreements, servicing agreements and other related contractual matters including attorney opinion letters, mortgage broker agreements, marketing services agreements, forbearance and loan indemnification contracts and other loss mitigation documentation.                                                                                                                                                                                                CONTRACT DRAFTING & NEGOTIATION:  Including the negotiation and/or review of office leases and sub-leases.                                                                                                                                                                                                LABOR & EMPLOYMENT MATTERS:  Including the creation and review of employment agreements, consulting agreements, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, company policies and procedures, non-compete/non-solicitation agreements, wage claims and garnishments.                                                                                                                                                                                                 CORPORATE & BUSINESS LAW:  Including counsel on day-to-day business matters and general corporate governance including preparation of corporate resolutions and certificates of incumbency.
